Influenced greatly by the onset of World War I in 1917, women have been entering and becoming a steady part of the manufacturing workforce, but this transition has not always been an easy one and continues to have its challenges.

Join us in the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center of Excellence’s Women in Manufacturing film as we explore how gender diversity in manufacturing has changed over the last hundred years. Hear from women working in the field and learn about the reasons they chose to work in manufacturing, the challenges they have faced while entering and working in the field, and the reasons they are passionate about encouraging other women to pursue a career in manufacturing. While women have come a long way in the past 100 years, there is still a lot of work to be done in the quest for equality in the workforce. Together we can empower the next generation of young women and end gender inequality in America.
